Jamaican legendary sprinter Usain Bolt has named his dream 4x100m relay team as he snubbed the sprinters of this generation including triple world champion Noah Lyles.
The double world record holder (100m & 200m), speaking on the High-Performance podcast paused for a moment before answering the question. He singled out two of his Jamaican rivals, Asafa Powell and Yohan Blake and added American sprint legend Justin Gatlin in the mix.
His decision comes following a series of races he had competed against of each them and at some point, he considered them his serial rivals. Justin Gatlin tormented Usain Bolt in most races and eventually beat him at the 2017 World Championships in London.

World Athletics has nominated five athletes for the Men’s Out of Stadium Athlete of the Year award, sparking controversy over the omission of consistent road runner Sabastian Sawe, despite his impressive season.
On his part, Yohan Blake was also a qualified sprinter in his own right but injuries plagued his career. He is currently the second-fastest man in the 100m, tying his time with Tyson Gay and also the second-fastest man in the 200m.
Asafa Powell was an accomplished 100m runner, having the most sub-10 performances and despite not winning an individual gold medal at an Olympic Games or World Championships, he remains a top 100m runner in the world. Having them in his relay squad, they would have probably run mind-blowing times.
“Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. It would definitely be Asafa to start, then Justin, Yohan Blake and me at anchor. Those would be the four," Usain Bolt said.
However, Noah Lyles is also a great sprinter in his own right as he brags of six World Championships gold medals to his name. He started his campaign at the 2019 World Championships, winning the men’s 200m before defending his 200m crown at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
At the same time, Noah Lyles claimed top honours in the men’s 4x100m before throwing down the gauntlet at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where he won the gold medals in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay. Noah Lyles is also the reigning Olympic champion in the men’s 100m.
