The Owensboro Fire Department (OFD) reports a vehicle crash led to a parked vehicle breaking an exterior wall at Eagle Place Apartments at approximately 2 p.m. on Scherm Road near Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Local fire department officials say the moving vehicle struck the unoccupied vehicle, forcing it through an exterior wall and into a unit.
While OFD reports no injuries, the vehicle did crash into a gas meter. Atmos Energy quickly arrived on the scene to turn off all remaining gas lines for the building. The occupying tenant is unable to return to their apartment.
Atmos Energy crews are on-site to determine the next steps for the building.
Owensboro Police Department is reporting the crash as a hit-and-run.
